About us
Rooted in this neighborhood since 1987.
East Valley Free Will Baptist Church was planted in 1987, when the Gwartney family relocated from Grandview, Missouri to Mesa as part of Free Will Baptist Home Missions' Target City project. Nearly four decades later, the same calling continues at our home on North Power Road, where neighbors, families, and longtime members gather each week.
Our doors are open to anyone in the East Valley looking for a steady, welcoming place to worship, ask questions, and serve alongside others. Pastor Mike Cash leads the congregation, and the rhythms of our church life — Sunday services, Wednesday gatherings, and ongoing local outreach — are shaped around being a faithful presence in northeast Mesa.

A smaller, conversational evening for Bible study, prayer, and connecting with others through the middle of the week.
Local Outreach
We partner with neighbors and families across northeast Mesa through seasonal service projects, community care, and practical help where it's needed.
